IMPORTANT, MUST BE READ...This past summer I have had to pleasure of training two great athletes who have grown tremendously here at the Garage Gym. Jacob Murray and Nate Lombardi who came to Garage Gym looking to get stronger, excel as in athlete in the sports they play, have have an overall healthier lifestyle. Jacob is 17 years old who runs a 4:50 mile -very fast. His main goal was to get stronger and faster for track season the 400 and 800m. When arriving to the gym Jacob and I started strength training 2 times a week, his back squat started at 95 pounds and due to tight hamstrings his squatting depth was not parallel. Recently Jacob did a 205 back squat below parallel for 5 reps with a 3 second negative per rep (30X0). Another great improvement was his pull up strength. Initially he was unable to do a single body weight pull-up and now he can do 2 pull-ups with 30 lbs attached to his waist. Jacobs hard work and dedication has gotten him to where he is today and his journey has just started!
Nate Lombardi is another solid athlete I've worked with this past summer. Nates goal was to become bigger, faster, and stronger, so he could dominate in football and basketball. At 13 years old Nate is not only very mature for his age, but also very strong. Recently Nate did a back squat of 115 lbs for 8 reps. When Nate and I started we were only doing work with the 45# bar. Nate excelled in the summer football camp he attended this summer and received compliments from his coaches about how much faster and stronger he had become. Nate also noticed these strength and speed gains on and off the field spending time with friends and his teammates, something I always enjoy hearing as a trainer. At 13 years old Nate is truly just starting his life in the wonderful world of fitness, and I can't wait to see the athlete he will be when he is a senior.
I thoroughly enjoy working with Jacob, Nate, and all my other athletes and am excited to keep moving them onward and upwards getting them stronger and faster.
