Lisa trains at Garage Gym as a private client and also coaches here as an active trainer with years of quality experience. Lisa's workout today was designed to train her CP energy system while focusing on building strength with her chinups and back squatting along with a MAP Training session looking to improve her aerobic power capacity.

 Lisa's assessment showed her scapular strength compared to bicep strength needed improvement as well as her squatting depth due to quad dominance and tight hamstrings. Lisa enjoys running and has always enjoyed circuit based training/sweat work. So today's workout reflected her priorities and designed for her personal goals. Remember when reading her workout Lisa has been an active athlete for 25+ years and has maintained a healthy lifestyle her entire life. 

A1 Back squat 40X0 5 x 3 rest 1 min
A2 Chin-up weighted negative 31X1 4 x 3 rest 1 min
+
8 sets at 85% effort:
4 burpees chest to deck
6 Barbell thrusters 25#
8 Kettlebell swings 35#
rest 1 min bt sets

Its critical for a coach to understand/ask and observe what the limiting factor is for their athletes. I asked Lisa what her limiter was for the MAP portion and she said upper body muscular fatigue, not aerobic capacity or lungs. She did feel her heart rate was around 85% but her shoulders were fatigued from burpees and thrusters. Good stuff to know moving forward.
